Tickets are now on sale for the off-Broadway revival of The Last Five Years, directed and composed by Jason Robert Brown. Starring Betsy Wolfe and Adam Kantor, the double-hander musical is scheduled to begin performances March 7 at Second Stage Theatre. Opening night is scheduled for April 2.
The musical explores the five-year relationship of Jamie (Kantor) and Cathy (Wolfe), two 20-something New Yorkers who fall head over heels in love—and out of it again. In a city where professional and personal passions collide, charting the waters of love and matrimony can sometimes prove to be too much.
After a run at the Northlight Theatre in Illinois, The Last Five Years transferred to off-Broadway’s Minetta Lane Theatre on March 3, 2002 and closed May 5. Directed by Daisy Prince, the original production starred Sherie Rene Scott and Norbert Leo Butz. The Last Five Years includes songs “Still Hurting,” “Shiksa Goddess,” “A Summer in Ohio” and more.
The Last Five Years features scenic design by Derek McLane, costume design by Emily Rebholz, lighting design by Jeff Croiter and sound design by John Weston. Thomas Murray will serve as musical director.
